Students in the economics major or exploring the economics major can schedule half hour appointments by visiting Starfish.  Students already in the economics major should schedule an appointment with their assigned adviser (listed in LionPATH under "adviser information"). Students who want to declare Economics as their primary major should schedule an appointment through Starfish with Arleyna Kramer.

Economics minors or those exploring the economics minor may not schedule appointments and must come to drop-in advising.

Students who are more than 15 minutes late will forfeit their appointment.

Appointments are meant for issues that you know will take longer than 10 minutes. Examples of topics that should be covered in an appointment include:

  • Change of major or concurrent major
  • Academic Planning
  • Long-range planning
  • Transferring credits from other institutions
  • Study abroad planning
  • Major/career/postgraduate exploration

Please visit the appointment scheduling page to find appointment scheduling information and instructions.

Appointment Cancellation

If you are unable to make your scheduled appointment, you may cancel your appointment through the scheduling system.  Please also contact the adviser via e-mail if you cancel less than 24 hours in advance.

Declaring the Major

  • Students are eligible to declare the Economics major once ECON 104 and 102 have been completed with grades of C or better.  Cumulative and major GPAs of 2.0 or higher and a minimum of 29.1 credits are also required.
  • Students who plan to declare Economics as a concurrent (second) major should make an appointment to meet with an adviser.
