Currently, I am Professor of Economics at the Pennsylvania State University, and Financial Director at The New Economic School in Moscow. I am the past Chair of the Board of Directors of the National Council for Eurasian and East European Research. I was the President of the Association for Comparative Economic Studies during 2004.



Clifford Gaddy and I are completing a new book, Russia’s Addiction: The Political Economy of Resource Dependence, Brookings Press, forthcoming. Here is a website that has related materials.

Teaching
During the spring semester of 2007 I am teaching a course on Finance and Financial Crises. Here is a link to the website for the course. I am also teaching Econ 472, the Economics of Transition. This course used to be Econ 372.
