Econ 434 Announcements

Here are some important announcements. Note that this page is updated periodically:

·Problem set 2 is now available here. It is due October 15, at the beginning of class or earlier. ·

The seating chart for the course is divided into the left half and the right half of the room (from my vantage point).

·Problem set 1 is now available here. It is due Sept 15 at the beginning of class or earlier.

Cell Phone Policy. Cell phone must be turned off during class. You may not text message during class. To learn why you should obey these rules, observe this video of my hero.

 

· The syllabus for the course is available here.

· The teaching assistant for this course is Yelena Sheveleva [yas107@psu.edu]. Here office hours are Tuesday from 2:00 to 3:30, and Friday 4-5. Her office is 402 Kern. .

· The course will meet Tues-Thurs from 4:14 to 5:30 in 121 Sparks.

·  My office hours will be Monday 10-11, Thursday 10-11, and by appointment.

· The first midterm is Tuesday, September 29 in class. You will need bluebooks. Bring extras, you can sell them.

· Here is a new policy on makeups that I am supposed to announce.

· It is your responsibility to provide timely notification to the instructor of a university-approved excused absence prior to missing an evaluative event. After providing such notification, the usual policy is to reweight future evaluative events. However, if you wish to take a make-up of the evaluative event then it must be scheduled and completed prior to the date of your absence, unless you are medically unable to do so. If you have questions, please contact your instructor.

·  The first homework is available here. It is due at the beginning of class on Thursday, Sept 18.
