WARNING: The files EASYREG.DB1 and EASYREG.DB2 are random access files. If you try to import these files in a text editor or wordprocessor, they will be damaged.
We are going to retrieve annual time series from the data base, and merge these time series with the Nelson-Plosser time series data already imported in EasyReg (See the guided tour on importing a former default EasyReg input file.) Thus, click "Search for annual time series". Then the following window appears.
We are going to retrieve three time series for Sweden. The first one is LN[Consumption Sweden]. Double click this variable, and click "Select variable". Then the window changes to:
Repeat this for LN[Investment Sweden] and LN[Income Sweden] and click "Make new input file". Then the window changes to:
Click "Comments O.K.". Then the window changes to:
Click "O.K.". Then the following window appears:
Click "Start EASYREG in current folder". Then the following window appears.
This is the Nelson-Plosser data. As said before, we are going to merge the time series for Sweden with the Nelson-Plosser time series for the US already imported in EasyReg. Thus, click "Overwrite or merge". Then the following window appears.
If you click "Merge these files", then the two data sets are merged, and you are done. The EasyReg main window will then appear, and you will be ready to use the merged data.
If you want to view data in the database, or add variables to and/or delete variabled from the database, open File -> Current data -> View or edit the EasyReg database. Then the following window appears.
This menu enables you to customize the EasyReg database, or view what is in it. However, I recommend to leave the EasyReg database as is.
