The programs below work under all 32bit Windows platforms (95 through Vista). They work on non-English versions of Windows as well without the need to adjust the language setting of Windows, as long as the language involved uses a roman alphabet, for example German, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, and French Windows versions.
However, if your Windows uses a language with a non-roman alphabet such as Japanese and Chinese, and the programs do not work, the problem is likely due to the language setting for non-Unicode programs. If so, open Control Panel, select "Regional and Language Options", and on the "Advanced" tab, under "Language for non-Unicode programs", select English. This will fix the problem without affecting the language of Windows itself. See NONUNICODE.HTM for details.
This is my own scientific calculator. It is much easier to use than the Windows Calculator, and has more options. It accepts dots and commas as decimal delimiters.

This is an alarm clock which keeps you posted of appointments and things to do during the day while you are working on your PC. Once you set the wake-up time, the program will be minimized to an icon on the task bar. When the wake-up time is due it will display a message box which suspends all activities on your PC until you click the OK button. Then the program will be restored to normal size and provides the option to go in sleep mode for a specified number of minutes.

Program SYNCHRONIZE does what Windows Briefcase does, but with many more options. Like Windows Briefcase, this program synchronizes a folder on a hard drive with a folder with the same name on another hard drive or a removable drive, by searching for newer files and replacing (after confirmation) the older files with the newer versions in the two folders involved. However, in contrast with Windows Briefcase, program SYNCHRONIZE also allows you to exclude sub-folders and particular files, and delete obsolete files or move them to a (recoverable) trashbin.
I use it to backup critical folders to USB drives, and keep my home computers, office computer, and laptop up-to-date.
