My sailboats

Leisure 17 "Schuimer"

Schuimer
(sister ship)

From 1975 to 1979 I sailed a Leisure 17 named "Schuimer". The Leisure 17 is a 17 feet long twin keel pocket cruiser build in the U.K. by Cobra Mold Ltd. This is a very sturdy boat (the first one sailed from England to the USA), but too small for my family.

Eurokruiser "Emiko"

Therefore, in 1979 I bought a new Dutch build 24 feet twin keel Eurokruiser, and named her "Emiko" (the Japanese name of my wife Cherie):

(This is an actual picture of "Emiko". I found it on the web. She was for sale.)

The Eurokruiser was build by Olympus boatyard in Holland. Mine was number 323. The Eurokruiser is a very roomy boat for her size, but rather slow. I sold "Emiko" in 1991 when I moved permanently to the USA.

Camera A picture of its interior.

O'Day 22

I bought the O'Day 22 (I never gave her a name) in Texas, and sailed her on Lake Lavon:

I sold my O'Day 22 when I moved to Pennsylvania in 1997

International Folkboat "Wildfire"

In the spring of 1997 I bought a 1975 vintage International Folkboat named "Wildfire":

Wildfire

I sold Wildfire in October 2001 because of lack of time to maintain and sail her, but I have regretted it ever since.

Camera Other pictures of Wildfire.

Seafarer 26

However, after two years without a boat, I am sailing the Chesapeake Bay again. I have bought a Seafarer 26 called Brandy Bay:
